Driving to my Grandmother's wake on Friday, not really paying attention to anything. There is a bit of silence in the car as I am with my mom and my boys. I am wondering if I will be a wreck once I get there like I was when my Grandfather passed 26 years earlier.
We come to a stop light and I look at the car in front of my, that's when I saw the sign. I saw the name "Henry" on the license plate of the car in front of me. In that instance, I drew my mom's attention to the car. All she said is "I just can't believe it!" Within second after that my sister called. I couldn't even let her speak before I told her too. You see my Grandfather's name is Henry.
My sister then shared that she had a cardinal walking towards her on her porch, then flew up to a female in the tree. The two birds then stared into her kitchen where she sat looking back at them. She said it was no more than a minute, but she told the birds, she knew who they were.
As the priest was saying the final prayers at the cemetery, there was a faint noise in the distance. It was the sound of a train rustling and the sound of a faint horn. Grandpa used to work for the railroad and they lived next to the tracks.
There are signs all around us and I just haven't been paying attention. I need to take time to pay more attention and take notice. I have always hoped that I would hear from my Grandfather, I loved him so much. Thank you Grandpa for letting us know that found each other. Thank you for the signs.
